The Bucket List

This has absolutely nothing to do with marketing but Jayme Soulati challenged each and every one of us to think about what would be on our list of 20 Things To Do Before I Die so here it is! I really believe that not only is this a great exercise for the soul, it’s a timestamp of what I see as important (making a mental note to check back in 30 years or so).

1. Become an entrepreneur

2. Write and publish a book

3. Live in Europe

4. Eat an oyster

5. Travel to Asia

6. Wake up every day next to someone I love, admire and respect

7. Rekindle my passion for the hospitality industry and find a way to marry that passion with my marketing knowledge

8. Master the art of gourmet cooking

9. Own my own home with a view of the ocean

10. Spend as much time as possible with my grandparents

11. Overcome my fear of large crowds

12. Adopt a child that needs a good home

13. Own a local pizza shop

14. Make amends with my sister (whom I have not spoken to in over 5 years) and forgive what needs to be left behind

15. Buy real Chanel earrings for myself

16. Transform my black thumb into a green thumb and surround myself with luscious greenery

17. See Mount Rushmore before it falls down (Man in the Mountain did!)

18. Stop smoking

19. Be a camp counselor

20. Visit my ancestors in Greece

That was not as easy as I thought it was going to be! Now it’s your turn – write a post a link here or share it over on Jayme’s blog.

  1. Oh.My.God. You just did a tremendous #RockHot Christina! I’m tickled  you took up the call and challenge! Thank you!  I had to really think to get to 20; I wrote mine last night and didn’t know they were floating around in my brain until they got to the paper. It is therapeutic and so freeing (maybe those are the same).

Congratulations! Now, I’m gonna share this over at my house! Thank you!

    •  @Soulati | B2B Social Media Marketing It was definitely a challenge to come up with 20! I didnt want to just put anything down, I wanted this to be thoughtful yet achievable. Thanks for the idea. Im looking forward to seeing what other bucket lists look like :)

  2. I dropped by from Jayme’s place and I am mighty impressed! You did come out with a fabulous list. I thought this would be easy, but you call it tough too… well, I might have to think before I actually do this. For me, travel and writing a book is something we share. Though I am from Asia (India to be specific), I would like to see more of it. Just travel the world would be fabulous!

Great list! Especially #16, it seems that everything I try to grow immediately dies!

    •  @BucketListJrny Haha! Me too! My friends make fun of me because my apartment is full of plastic plants. I enjoy the greenery but just cant seem to grow anything.

  4. Came over because I saw a comment on Soulati’s original blogt that you had posted yours. I completed the challenge too. It is interesting to see that the three of us each want to write a book! We should have a book writing club and make sure we get it done sooner than later. I also want to travel to Asia, with Japan and South Korea being highest on my list to visit.

    •  @susansilver Have you heard of the book ‘No Plot? No Problem’. It’s basically a blueprint for writing a book in 30 days. Im also currently enrolled in a class to do just that so hopefully I will get crossing this off my list within the next couple months!

      •  @C_Pappas  @susansilver Wonder if a strong-starter, poor-finisher like me could ever make that happen? Sounds interesting!

        •  @Soulati | B2B Social Media Marketing  @susansilver You could SO do it! The book is wonderful and walks you through getting over the distractions and obstacles that happen over a 30 day period. Please let me know if you look into it and take on the challenge!
